Signs of Fall

The football team held its first captain's practice yesterday; it had to have been at least 80 and humid. The boys came off the field sweating and panting after a month or two off.

That may be a sign of fall, but the real first sign of fall came back around the 4th of July. It was a sign on the arena:

INQUIRE WITHIN

  1. Is J going to play football this fall?

  2. No, there isn't a youth program for awhile. Which is fine; he's all about the hockey in the fall and winter. When I said "boys" in this post, it was a little misleading; I mean high-school boys.

  3. Do you have to choose either hockey or football? I thought you could do both. (Not that I'm asking for my family. Ha!)

  4. You can do both. It's whether your mom wants to cart you to both. John isn't really interested in football much at all, which is good. I can't handle a two-sport season.

And I was wrong, pony ball begins in third grade. THIRD. GRADE.
