We Are The World

Matt is being trained in for his new job as conductor by a guy who's within about 17 minutes of retiring. He's very old school and wears bibs and an old-time Stormy Kromer hat. Guy brought a pot of mojakka for lunch yesterday and shared with Matt. Today Matt's bringing some leftover colcannon to share. Locomotive 212 is one big melting pot.

  1. We were going to have Finnish open-faced sandwiches on Irish soda bread, but I was too lazy to bake, so we had them on crispbread instead. Which is not so melting pot.

  2. Heh. I made Irish soda bread for the colcannon, and it was so easy I fell in love with it instantly. I like the four-ingredient baking.

Matt said this guy also brought in a pot of chili. Nice.

  3. Aw...my grandma Layon made mojakka.

(of course, being born Melia Sippola)

I miss mojakka. Time to learn how to make it.

Thanks, Edit Barn, for the proper incentive.
