I put the jar of jelly, with fair tag and red ribbon still attached, on an eye-level shelf in the kitchen. Today I was walking by and noticed that the bubbles, which evidently denied me the blue ribbon, are gone! GONE! I have a half-pint of gorgeous, sparkling-clear jelly. So maybe it IS a good idea to make the jelly in advance and let it sit a few weeks, and not wait until the last minute and make it the night before. Now there's a lesson I should have learned long, long ago.
