Condoleezza Rice got it right. She was talking today about how a country needs employment and strong economic development for people to feel confidence in its economic future. She thanked and commended those who were working to build this future. Oh wait! This was on her "surprise" trip to Mosul, talking about the economic situation in Iraq. No link, sorry -- I heard it on NPR this morning.
In other news, the Senate Finance Committee, in a mildly shocking move, failed to move even more tax cuts out of committee. These tax cuts would have "more than erased" the budget cuts made last month. (NPR again.)
