One More Screw

I was expecting to get a sizeable check in the mail today, one that would tide us over until Matt starts working next week.

But thanks to the Reagasm* that's going on, I won't get it until, possibly, tomorrow! And since banks are open, we have to worry about the checks we floated earlier this week.

Another working family against Reagan.

* Thanks to Sistah for the word.

  1. Anonymous5:43 PM

    You're welcome!

  2. It's very, very good that you're a Snicket fan. Your kids will thank you, trust me. Four-ish years ago lp brushed the books aside and asked me why on EARTH I thought it was funny that these poor children who'd lost their parents were funny! Today she wants the boxed set, hardcover. One must develop, nurture, and encourage a healthy cynicism in one's children.

    Great blog! :)

  3. Forgot to mention: we framed our "tax relief for America's families" check in the amount of $19.86. Rather, we'd LIKE to have it framed, but as of yet have not broken down and paid to do so. Ironic, non?

  4. Reagasm, hah. I love it.

It's not like they couldn't have waited until Monday. I mean of all the stupid times to have a spontaneous "holiday," have they really no idea how many people get paid on the second Friday of the month? Oh that's right, they just don't care. Meh.

  5. Portia gets a special prize for noticing the reference first! When I first started "Bad Beginning," I thought, "This is terrible. Some kids really DO go through this!" But the writing is so good, and the three kids are such great characters, that I quickly got caught up in them. I, too, want the boxed hardcover set.

In other news, I didn't get the check on Saturday, either, so I can't blame Reagan anymore, really. But I want to, so I will.
